Human Protocol’s Blockchain-based Marketplaces For Freelancers

Human Protocol is building blockchain-based decentralized infrastructures for freelancers that power marketplaces, where humans and machines can collaborate to solve any fungible task.

Ashton Addison spoke with Harry Singh, Technology Director at Human Protocol, on human and machine collaboration, their multi-chain engine, labor marketplace, their mainnet release, ambassador program, grants and more.

“There is someone in the digital realm that wants something done. It could be a physical job, like getting your food delivered, or taking you one place to the other or someone designing a logo. And there is someone on the opposite side that can deliver that. No there are centralized plaforms like Swiggy and Uber, UberEats and similar platforms provide platforms to cater to this.”

Singh explains all of these platforms have something in common. Four levels process.

1. Job creation.

2. Matching a job to a particular person that can solve it based on their skills and ability.

3. Verification the work is done

4. The settlement and the person getting the solution.

Then there’s Human Protocol’s new decentralized level

If Uber was being born today, Singh explains they wouldn’t have to build out that tech. They would just leverage certain protocols to build that platform and then focus on the business development.

“At Human Protocol there is an abstract level where someone can just create an engine that powers marketplaces like this.”

In the debate over centralized versus decentralized platforms Singh uses the example of a driver or food delivery person in centralized companies. Centralized companies have all the control and can possibly decide not to pay them out or charge penalties, or call their work obsolete.

On the other hand, the same services in an entirely decentralized system has no say in that part of the process. It’s all governed by multiple actors playing in the system in different roles.

Settlement is a major issue for service providing platform users and decentralized platforms can open huge doors.

This end to end process is live now while the team is adding more features to the decentralized Human Protocol marketplace platform. Users access it to complete tasks and earn HMTs a utility orientated token on the Ethereum Mainnet for each task successfully completed.

Bitcoinist recently put HUMAN Protocol in the top 5 earning opportunities you probably haven’t heard about.
